Laini Taylor is a successful American author, best known for her young adult fantasy novels. She was born in December 1971, in the California town of Chico, and went on to study English at the University of California, Berkeley. Taylor's husband, Jim Di Bartolo, is an illustrator, and they have one daughter together. The family resides in Portland, Oregon.
Taylor has written several novels and series, including the popular "Daughter of Smoke and Bone" trilogy.
