Larry Correia

Larry Correia is a successful American author, best known for his urban fantasy and thriller novels. He has written several series including Monster Hunter, Grimnoir Chronicles, and Dead Six. Correia's path to becoming a full-time author began in 2008 when he made the Entertainment Weekly bestseller list as a self-published author, which subsequently earned him a contract with Baen Books. His novels are characterized by the presence of monsters, magic, and detailed descriptions of gun use. Correia has cited authors such as Louis L'Amour, Terry Brooks, Raymond E. Feist, and David Eddings as some of his favorites growing up. In addition to being a full-time author, Correia also works as an accountant and part-time firearms instructor in Utah.

Born in the United States in 1977, Correia grew up in California where he worked on his Portuguese father's dairy farm until his family moved to Utah in his mid-teens. For a brief period, Correia was left behind in California but caught up with his family a year later. Prior to becoming a full-time author, Correia practiced several careers, including working as an accountant, part-owner in a shooting range and gun store, and a concealed carry permit instructor. In 2014 and 2015, Correia received significant media attention due to the Sad Puppies campaign, which aimed to nominate works, including his own, for the Hugo Awards. Despite his efforts, the campaign was unsuccessful as voters favored more literary stories and works with progressive political themes over his works.
