Laura DiSilverio is an acclaimed American author, known for her work in cozy mystery, suspense, and young adult (YA) novels. She has written several series, including the Charlie Swift Mysteries, Mall Cop Mysteries, and Book Club Mysteries. DiSilverio's childhood was spent on the move, as the daughter of an Air Force pilot, living in various states and the Philippines before finishing high school.
DiSilverio's passion for writing can be traced back to her early years when she would write and illustrate stories about horses and princesses. It was not until she attended Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, that she wrote her first novel for a creative writing class. Although this romantic novel was rejected, DiSilverio did not let it deter her from pursuing her dream of becoming a writer. However, she decided to take a break from writing and joined the Air Force, following in her father's footsteps. She served as a squadron commander, with the National Reconnaissance Office, and at a fighter wing before retiring to focus on parenting and writing full-time.
DiSilverio is the author of 21 novels, including "Close Call," which was named one of the Top 5 mysteries of 2016 by Library Journal, and "The Reckoning Stones," which won the 2016 Colorado Book Award for best mystery. In addition to her adult novels, DiSilverio has also written a dystopian YA series, the Incubation Trilogy, at the urging of her teenage daughters. She is a past President of Sisters in Crime and a frequent keynote speaker and teacher at writers conferences and events. DiSilverio currently resides in Colorado, where she plots mysteries and parents her teenage children, trying to keep the two tasks separate.
