Laura Frantz is a bestselling and award-winning author, known for her historical novels. She is a history enthusiast, particularly fond of the 18th century, and her writing reflects her passion for the past. Many of her stories incorporate Scottish themes, which is a nod to her family heritage. Frantz is a direct descendant of George Hume, who was exiled to the American colonies for his role in the Jacobite Rebellion of 1715 and settled in Virginia. Hume is credited with teaching George Washington surveying in the years 1748-1750. Frantz is also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Born and raised in Kentucky, Frantz now lives in Washington State with her husband. She has a strong connection to her home state, as her family has lived in Kentucky since the 18th century. Frantz has been writing since she was a child, and she has a unique writing process. She writes her manuscripts in longhand before typing them up. This allows her to fully immerse herself in the world of her story and to create a strong emotional connection with her characters.
