Lavinia Kent is a successful author who grew up in Wisconsin and New York City. She developed a passion for writing at a young age, but she pursued other careers before becoming a full-time writer. Kent received her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and later earned an MBA from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where she currently resides with her husband and children. In addition to her human family, Kent shares her home with a variety of pets, including cats, rats, a cockatiel, and a subordinate tomcat.
Kent has always been an avid reader, particularly of romance novels. She believes that stories should be written down and not just kept in one's head. As the mother of three children, Kent finds it challenging to find leisure time, but when she does, she enjoys reading romantic novels. When she's not reading, she likes to watch reality TV or HBO. Kent's love for romance began with Johanna Lindsay and Kathleen Woodiwiss, and she has never given up on the genre, even during slow spots.
Prior to becoming a writer, Kent worked in both the business and art fields. She began dedicating more time to writing after the birth of her first child, but it wasn't until after the birth of her youngest that she became a full-time writer. Kent loves discussing books and is thrilled that her children are now old enough to read and discuss the same things she does. She is proud of her achievements as a writer, including serving as the president of Washington Romance Writers for two terms and being nominated four times for the Romance Writers of America Golden Heart. Kent's writing talent has led her to create several romantic novels, including her first series, Desire. The series includes two books, Hint of Desire and Price of Desire, which have received positive reviews from readers. Kent's books are available in local bookshops, online stores, and libraries at affordable prices.
