Leah Scheier

Leah Scheier is an American author who was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She has always had a love for reading, with her favorite authors as a child being Arthur Conan Doyle, C.S. Lewis, and Lloyd Alexander. This love for reading eventually turned into a love for writing, as she began making up her own romance and adventure tales. Even now, Scheier continues to create new stories when she isn't working as a pediatrician or taking care of her daughters.

Scheier is a successful author, with several of her novels earning starred reviews from respected publications. Her first novel, "Secret Letters," received a starred review from School Library Journal and warm reviews from Publishers Weekly, Booklist, and VOYA. Her second novel, "Your Voice is All I Hear," received a starred review from Booklist and praise from SLJ, VOYA, and PW. Her third novel, "Rules of Rain," was well-reviewed by Kirkus, Booklist, and SLJ. Her fourth novel, "The Last Words We Said," is set to be released by Simon & Schuster on August 31, 2021, and tells the story of four Jewish teens in Atlanta and what happens when one of them disappears and they all blame themselves. Scheier's novels have been praised for their emotional depth and complex characters.

In addition to being a successful author, Scheier is also a full-time pediatrician and a mother to three daughters and twin boys. She is able to balance her career as a writer and her career as a pediatrician while also taking care of her family.
