Lesley Jones is a bestselling contemporary romance novelist, who was born and raised in Essex, England. However, she moved to Australia in 2006 with her family, which has since become her home. Jones is known for her ability to create gritty and down-to-earth characters, involved in angsty and emotional plot lines. Her writing is known to elicit strong reactions from her readers, who appreciate her ability to switch between hot and steamy scenes to snot bubble ugly crying, followed by laugh out loud moments, all within a few sentences.
Jones' first book, Saviour, was published in 2013, and since then, she has quickly gained a reputation as a writer who is not afraid to tackle difficult and emotional topics. Her third novel, Carnage, made a number of lists and won several awards for 'Best Ugly Cry.' Jones' readers appreciate her ability to create complex and relatable characters that draw them into the story and keep them engaged until the very end.
When Jones is not writing, she enjoys a range of hobbies and pastimes. She is a self-confessed fan of wearing pyjamas at any time of day, but not a fan of wearing a bra, unless absolutely necessary. Jones is also an avid reader and gets through around four or five books a week. She enjoys watching trashy reality TV, listening to music, and watching her son play football. Jones is also a fan of spicy food and enjoys a glass of wine or three. Jones has declared that the very best part of her job is meeting her readers, and she has travelled the world a number of times over the past few years to do exactly that.
