Lian Dolan

Lian Dolan is a accomplished author, talk show host, and podcast creator. She is best known for her witty and humorous take on contemporary issues, particularly those related to motherhood and women's lives. Dolan's debut novel, "Helen of Pasadena," was published in 2010 and quickly became a LA Times bestseller. The novel combines social satire and romantic comedy, and was a hit with book clubs and critics alike. She followed this success with the 2013 published "Elizabeth the First Wife" and "The Sweeney Sisters" in 2020, both of which continue the tradition of romance, wit, and Shakespeare.

In addition to her work as a novelist, Dolan is also the creator, producer, and host of the award-winning podcast Satellite Sisters, which she created with her four real sisters. The podcast began as a syndicated radio show in 2000 and has been a top-rated podcast since 2009. Satellite Sisters has won 13 Gracie Allen Awards for Excellence in Women’s Media and has been featured on The Today Show, CBS Sunday Morning and The Oprah Winfrey Show. In 2017, Lian was given the Podcast Pioneer Award by Women in Podcasting.

Dolan is also a regular columnist for several prestigious magazines including Working Mother Magazine, The Oprah Magazine, and Pasadena Magazine. She has also written for websites, radio, and TV. She graduated from Pomona College with a degree in Classics. She lives in Pasadena, California with her husband, Berick Treidler. She has two adult sons and a senior German shepherd.
