Lily Graham is a successful author of historical fiction books, who was born in South Africa and spent her childhood dreaming of becoming a writer. However, it wasn't until her thirties that she finally achieved her dream of finishing a manuscript. Graham began her writing career by producing children's books, but a significant life event led her to explore a new genre. When her mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness, Graham wrote a book to help her cope with the fear and pain she was experiencing. This marked her first foray into women's fiction, and the book was published in 2016 by Bookouture.
Graham's writing career has since taken off, and she has written six novels to date. Her first four books were a blend of light-hearted women's fiction and drama, but she found her true calling in historical fiction. After writing "The Island Villa," a story about a secret Jewish community living on the island of Formentera during the Spanish Inquisition, Graham knew she had found her niche. She has since written two other historical fiction novels, including "The Paris Secret," a story about a woman, a bookshop, and a secret that goes back to the occupation, and "The Child of Auschwitz," a harrowing tale about a woman who gave birth to a child after surviving a concentration camp.
In addition to her success as an author, Graham is also a former journalist who spent a decade in the field before giving it up to write fiction full-time. Her books have been translated into numerous languages, including French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, and Turkish. Graham now lives on the Suffolk coast in England with her husband and dog.
