Linda Holeman is an accomplished author with fourteen published books spanning multiple genres. Her literary repertoire includes two collections of short stories, "Flying to Yellow" and "Devil’s Darning Needle," as well as historical novels such as "The Linnet Bird," "The Moonlit Cage," and "The Devil on Her Tongue." She has also written young adult fiction, including the novels "Promise Song" and "Mercy’s Birds," alongside the short story collection "Saying Good-Bye," later re-released as "Toxic Love." Her works have been translated into numerous languages, including French, German, Spanish, and Russian, with forthcoming editions in Croatian, Italian, Czech, and Slovakian.
Holeman’s career extends beyond writing, encompassing editorial and mentorship roles. She served as guest editor for a young adult issue of Prairie Fire Magazine, earning the Vicky Metcalf Short Story Editor Award. Her contributions to the literary community include jurying for the Governor-General’s Award for Children’s Literature and facilitating writing workshops internationally. She has held positions such as Writer-in-Residence at Winnipeg’s Millennium Library and served on the editorial advisory board for Turnstone Press. With degrees in Psychology, Sociology, and Education, Holeman brings a nuanced perspective to her storytelling, often exploring complex emotional and historical themes. She resides in Toronto, Ontario, and remains an active member of The Writers Union of Canada.
