Lis Wiehl is a highly accomplished American author and legal analyst, best known for her mystery novels and non-fiction books. She was born in Yakima, Washington, in 1961 and has had a lifelong interest in the law and literature. Wiehl is a New York Times bestselling author, with eighteen books to her name, including the Triple Threat series, the East Salem Trilogy, and her latest series featuring Mia Quinn.
Wiehl was raised in a family with a strong legal background; her grandfather and father were both federal prosecutors, and she followed in their footsteps by becoming a third-generation federal prosecutor in the US Attorney's Office in Seattle. She also served as the Deputy Chief Investigative Counsel for Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee during President Clinton’s impeachment. Wiehl's legal expertise is highly regarded, and she has worked as a legal analyst and reporter for various news networks, including NBC News, NPR, and the Fox News Channel.
In addition to her legal career, Wiehl is a highly respected academic, teaching law at the University of Washington Law School and the New York Law School. Wiehl earned her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, her Master of Arts in Literature from the University of Queensland, and a bachelor’s degree from Barnard College, Columbia University. She currently lives near New York City.
