Lisa Black is a successful American author, best known for her crime fiction novels. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio and worked as a forensic scientist in the same city before becoming a writer. Currently, she spends her daytime working as a latent print examiner in Cape Coral, Florida, and utilizes her free time to write her popular crime fiction books. Lisa is particularly famous for creating the character of Theresa MacLean, a forensic investigator, in her mystery novel series of the same name.
Lisa began her writing career in 2005 with the publication of her debut novel, "Trace Evidence," which she wrote under the pseudonym of Evelyn James. She wrote one more book under her pen name before switching to her original name for writing all her future books. Lisa has stated that she was inspired to start writing her own mystery novels after reading popular books by writers like P.D. James, Ellery Queen, and Lisa Gardner. She has also mentioned that she aspires to drive Nancy Drew's convertible and marry Ellery Queen.
Apart from her Theresa MacLean series, Lisa has also written the "Gardiner and Renner" series, with only one book published so far.
