Lisa Gray

Lisa Gray is a successful crime writer and journalist, best known for her Jessica Shaw series. The series, which began in 2019 with the book "Thin Air," has quickly gained popularity and has been followed by "Bad Memory" in 2019 and "Dark Highway" in 2020.

Gray's passion for writing began at a young age, where she dreamed of writing features for magazines. However, life took her in a different direction and she found herself working as a football journalist for 14 years. Despite the challenges of freezing winters and unreliable internet connections, she eventually transitioned to working as a content writer for a national newspaper. During this time, she also served as the newspaper's books columnist.

In addition to the Jessica Shaw series, Gray has also written a standalone thriller titled "The Dark Room." She is an avid reader and cites Michael Connelly, Lee Child, and Karin Slaughter as some of her favorite authors. Her debut crime novel, "Thin Air," was a huge success and she has been longlisted for the McIlvanney Prize in 2020. Gray now writes full-time and resides in Glasgow.
