Lisa McMann is a successful American author, well-known for her YA fantasy novels. She was born in Holland, Michigan, and graduated from Calvin College in 1990. McMann has been passionate about writing since she was in the fourth grade, and her dreams of becoming an author became a reality with the publication of her first book, Wake, in 2008.
McMann's writing career has seen remarkable success, with many of her books becoming New York Times bestsellers. Some of her most popular series include the UNWANTEDS series, the VISIONS trilogy, the WAKE trilogy, CRYER's CROSS, and the INFINITY RING: The Trap Door. Her most recent middle-grade fantasy series, The Forgotten Five, follows five supernatural kids on a quest to find their missing, criminal parents. The first book in the series, Map of Flames, was an instant NYT bestseller.
McMann currently resides in Tempe, Arizona, with her husband, Matt McMann, who is also a writer. They have two adult children, Kennedy and Kilian McMann. In her spare time, McMann enjoys taking walks, cooking, watching TV and movies, and reading a variety of genres, including fantasy, realistic fiction, memoirs, and books about cooking and wine. She is the author of over two dozen books for young adults and children, with many more to come.
