Lisa Patton

Lisa Patton is an accomplished American author, well-known for her Southern fiction novels. She was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, where she attended the all-girls prep school, the Hutchison School. Patton later went on to receive her B.A. in Communications from the University of Alabama. In addition to her writing, she is also a popular event speaker.

Patton's unique brand of romance, infused with her own charm and distinctive style, has garnered her a loyal following worldwide. Her writing is inspired by her experiences growing up in the South and her career in the music and entertainment industry. She currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband.

Before becoming a full-time author, Patton worked in the music and entertainment business for over 20 years. She held positions at the Historic Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, WMC-FM 100, the landmark Memphis radio station, and WMC-TV Channel 5, the NBC affiliate in Memphis. She also spent three years in the restaurant business as an innkeeper in Vermont. It was during this time that she got the inspiration for her bestselling novel, Whistlin' Dixie in a Nor'easter.

Patton's novels have been featured on the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA) Bestseller List, and she was selected by Target as an Emerging Author in 2010. She is the bestselling author of Whistlin' Dixie in a Nor'easter, Yankee Doodle Dixie, Southern as a Second Language, and Rush. Her latest novel, Rush, set inside a fictional sorority house at Ole Miss, provides a glimpse into the most exclusive sorority recruitment in the country, and the relationships between the sisters and the house staff. It is a story of friendship, female empowerment, and social justice. Currently, she is working on her next novel and is the proud mother of two sons, eight bonus children, eleven grandchildren, and one furry son named Ziggy.
