Lisa Preston is a highly regarded author, known for her expertise in writing crime and mystery thriller novels. Born in 1964, Preston has established herself as a prominent figure in the genre, with a writing style that instantly engages readers and keeps them hooked until the very end. Her unique voice and ability to weave suspense and intrigue together have made her a household name among readers of thriller and domestic noir.
Before turning to writing, Preston worked as a fire department paramedic and a city police officer, experiences that have greatly enhanced the medical and legal passages of her fiction and non-fiction work. Her debut novel, Orchids and Stone, was released by Thomas & Mercer in April 2016 and was met with critical acclaim, earning praise from best-selling novelists such as Jo-Ann Mapson, Laura Moriarty, Kate Moretti, and Carol Cassella.
In addition to her fiction work, Preston has also written non-fiction books and articles on animals, particularly the care and training of dogs and horses. She is an avid outdoors enthusiast and spends much of her free time on backcountry trails as a runner and rider, sometimes combining her two pursuits through the obscure sport of Ride and Tie. Preston currently resides in Washington State's Olympic Peninsula with her husband and Malinois.
