Lisa Tucker

Lisa Tucker is the author of six novels, including "The Winters in Bloom," "The Song Reader," "Shout Down the Moon," "Once Upon a Day," "The Cure for Modern Life," and "The Promised World." Her works have been published in twelve countries and recognized by numerous literary organizations, including the American Library Association, the Indie Next list, and Book Sense. Several of her novels have been featured in prominent book clubs and programs, such as the Literary Guild, People magazine's Critic’s Choice, and Barnes & Noble's Reading Group selections.

Born in Missouri, Tucker holds graduate degrees in both English and mathematics, with fellowships awarded in both disciplines. She has taught creative writing at the University of Pennsylvania, the Taos Writers' Conference, and UCLA. Her writing often explores emotional depth and human resilience, blending literary fiction with psychological insight. In addition to her novels, her short works have appeared in The New York Times, Seventeen, The Oxford American, and NPR's "Three Books." She currently resides in Philadelphia, where she continues to write and engage with the literary community.
