Lisa Williamson Rosenberg is a highly accomplished author and psychotherapist, with a particular interest in depression, complex trauma, and racial identity. Born and raised in New York, she now resides in Montclair, New Jersey with her husband and dog, where she is also a mother to two college students.
Before becoming a therapist, Rosenberg enjoyed a successful career as a ballet dancer, performing with the Boston, Pennsylvania, and Pacific Northwest Ballet companies. Throughout her life, she has been passionate about writing, producing essays and attempting novels. Her writing has been published in several notable outlets, including Longreads, Narratively, Grok Nation, The Common, Social Work in Healthcare, and Interfaith Families Online, New Jersey Jewish News, and The Defenders Online. Rosenberg's debut novel, Embers on the Wind, was released in August 2022 by Little A. She is currently working on two other novels and is represented by Dr. Uwe Stender, founder of TriadaUS Literary Agency.
In addition to her writing and therapy practice, Rosenberg is also a Black, biracial (African American and Ashkenazi Jewish) woman, and the only child of a happy interracial marriage. Her unique background and experiences have informed her writing and her approach to therapy, as she explores themes of dual identity and complex cultural environments.
