Lisi Harrison is a successful author, known for her work in young adult and children's novels. She was born in Toronto, Canada on July 29, 1970, and was raised by her parents Shaila and Ken Gottlieb. Harrison has a brother and sister. After growing up in Toronto, she moved to Montreal, Quebec to attend McGill University, where she studied film. However, she eventually decided to pursue a career in writing instead and transferred to Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, where she earned her BFA.
Harrison's career took off after she got a job at MTV, where she worked for 12 years and eventually became Senior Director of Development. During her time at MTV, she developed shows such as "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills." Harrison is perhaps best known for her young adult series "The Clique," "Alphas," and "Pretenders," as well as her books based on the Monster High doll line from Mattel. Her first adult novel, "The Dirty Book Club," was released in 2017. In addition to these successes, Harrison also served as head writer for MTV Productions and has two middle-grade series coming out in 2021, "Girl Stuff" and "The Pack."
Harrison is currently married with two children and resides in Laguna Beach, California. She is a member of her own Dirty Book Club and writes for eight hours a day. Despite her busy schedule, she still finds time to post a new blog every Wednesday on her website, LisiHarrison.com. Harrison's work has been well-received by critics and readers alike, earning her a place as a prominent author in the young adult and children's literature genres.
