Livia Blackburne is a successful author of young adult fantasy and general fantasy fiction, who has also ventured into other genres. Her writing is informed by her background in neuroscience, which she studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
While pursuing her PhD at MIT, Blackburne became interested in the neuroscience of reading and conducted research on the topic. It was during this time that she wrote her first novel. After completing her degree, she decided to focus full-time on writing, trading in her lab coat and 3 Tesla MRI scanner for a laptop and a limitless imagination.
Blackburne's published works include the New York Times bestseller "Midnight Thief," an Indies Introduce New Voices selection, as well as "Daughter of Dusk" and "Rosemarked," which was an Amazon best book of the month and a YALSA Teens Top Ten Nominee. Her ability to combine her scientific expertise with her storytelling skills has made her a popular and respected figure in the literary world.
