Lorena McCourtney is a successful American author, best known for her Christian-themed mystery and romance novels. Born on July 19, 1933, in Eastern, Washington, McCourtney grew up with a love for writing, often creating stories about horses during her youth. She pursued her passion for writing while earning an Agriculture degree from Washington State University.
After putting her writing pursuits on hold to raise a family, McCourtney returned to the craft by writing short stories for church publications. This experience eventually led her to publish romance novels before transitioning to Christian romance and, ultimately, Christian mysteries. McCourtney's writing journey reflects her ability to adapt and grow as a writer, exploring different genres and styles throughout her career.
Living in Southern Oregon for many years has provided McCourtney with a rich backdrop for her novels. She sets her stories in the state of Oregon, taking advantage of the area's unique landscapes and culture. McCourtney's cozy mystery novels are known for their humor and lightheartedness, making them accessible and enjoyable for readers of all ages.
