Loretta Marion

Loretta Marion is an author whose writing bridges the genres of mystery, suspense, and women’s fiction, often infused with elements of romance, humor, and occasionally the psychological or paranormal. Her work is distinguished by strong yet flawed characters and richly atmospheric settings, particularly in New England, where much of her fiction takes place. She is the author of "The Haunted Bluffs Mysteries" series, published by Crooked Lane Books, which includes "House of Ashes" and its sequel, "Storm of Secrets," set in the fictional Cape Cod town of Whale Rock. Her debut novel, "The Fool's Truth," was a finalist in the Mystery & Suspense categories of the IAN 2017 Book of the Year Awards and received honors from the New England Book Festival and Literary Titan.

Marion’s passion for storytelling was shaped by her early love of literature and further inspired by her work as a hospice volunteer, where she developed a Legacy Story program to preserve the narratives of patients. This experience deepened her appreciation for character-driven storytelling. Born and raised in the Midwest, she later embraced New England as both her home and the backdrop for her novels. When not writing, she enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and reading. She resides in Rhode Island with her husband and their rescue dog, Mr. Micawber.
