Lori Wilde is a successful American author, best known for her series such as the Handsome Devils books and the Heartthrob Hospital books. She considers her big breakout as an author to be The First Love Cookie Club, which has since been optioned for a TV movie. Born and raised in Texas, Wilde's love for writing started at a young age. At the age of eight, she wrote her first short story, and four years later, she finished writing her first novel. Despite facing rejections early in her career, Wilde's determination to keep writing led her to publish her first book in 1994 to Silhouette Romance.
Wilde has a flair for comedy and has branched out to Harlequin Duets and Blaze. She has received numerous awards for her writing, and her books have been translated into 26 languages, with more than five million copies sold worldwide. Her series, The Wedding Veil Wishes, inspired six movies from Hallmark, starring Lacey Chabert, Autumn Reese, and Alison Sweeney. The movies broke viewing records for Hallmark. Her first NYT bestseller, The First Love Cookie Club, was also made into a Christmas movie with Hallmark called A Kismet Christmas.
Wilde is a registered nurse with a BSN from Texas Christian University and a Master in Liberal Arts from the same university. She holds a certificate in forensics, a certificate in screenwriting from UCLA, and is also a certified yoga instructor. Apart from writing, Wilde is an adventuresome soul who loves to travel. She has taken flying lessons, completed two marathons, and traveled Europe as a teenager. She has also hiked volcanoes in Hawaii, trod on glaciers in Alaska, shot white-water rapids, water-skied, snow-skied, raced all-terrain vehicles, and photographed grizzly bears in Yellowstone. Wilde currently lives in her native Texas with her own real-life hero, Bill.
