Louise Fein has always had a passion for reading and writing, with a childhood spent often immersed in books and exploring her imagination. This early love for literature sparked her lifelong dream of becoming an author herself. Today, Fein is a historical fiction author who focuses on sharing unheard voices and perspectives in her work.
Fein's debut novel, "Daughter of the Reich" (titled "People Like Us" in the UK edition), was published in 2020 and is set in 1930's Leipzig. The book was shortlisted for the RSL Christopher Bland Prize 2021 and the RNA Historical Novel of the Year Award, 2021. Her second novel, "The Hidden Child," focuses on the eugenics movement in 1920's England and America and was a Globe & Mail bestseller in Canada. Fein's third novel, "The London Bookshop Affair," set against a backdrop of espionage and looming nuclear war in 1962 London, will be published in January 2024.
Before becoming a full-time author, Fein pursued careers in law and banking and holds an MA in Creative Writing from St Mary's University. She is passionate about both historical research and writing and enjoys exploring themes that resonate with today's world. Fein currently resides in the Surrey countryside, UK, with her family and pets.
