Lucy Hounsom

Lucy Hounsom is a writer who currently resides in southwest England, specifically on the stunning and atmospheric Jurassic Coast. This area is known for its natural beauty, as well as its rich history of myths and folklore, making it an ideal location for an author to draw inspiration from.

Hounsom is the author of the Worldmaker Trilogy, which includes her debut novel, STARBORN. Her fourth book, SISTERSONG, was published in 2021. Prior to becoming a full-time author, Hounsom worked for Waterstones Booksellers for over a decade in corporate account sales. She holds a BA in English & Creative Writing from the University of London and completed her MA in Creative Writing in 2010. Hounsom's writing has been well-received, with her debut novel being shortlisted in the 2016 Gemmell Awards for Best Fantasy Debut.

As Lucy Holland, Hounsom has also written historical fantasy novels. Her debut novel under this pseudonym, SISTERSONG, is a reimagining of the folk ballad, 'The Twa Sisters'. The novel was a finalist for the Goldsboro Books Glass Bell Award and the British Fantasy Award for Best Novel in 2022. Her fifth book, SONG OF THE HUNTRESS, is due in 2024. Hounsom also co-hosts the intersectional feminist podcast 'Breaking the Glass Slipper', which won Best Audio in the 2019 British Fantasy Awards. She currently lives in Devon and enjoys hobbies such as gaming, anime, and playing the piano.
