Luke Chmilenko is a well-known GameLit author, best recognized for his "Ascend Online" series of novels. Born in 1987 in Mississauga, Ontario, Luke was passionate about storytelling and writing from a young age. However, he never considered writing a full novel until later in life, believing it to be an unattainable goal. Instead, he focused on his studies and pursued a career in IT Security.
It wasn't until after his marriage, with his wife's encouragement, that Luke decided to try his hand at writing a novel. He was drawn to the LitRPG genre, which he had recently discovered, and began writing his first book. Luke released his work chapter by chapter for free online, gaining valuable feedback and confidence from his readers. By the time he published his first book on Amazon, he already had a dedicated audience eagerly awaiting his next installation. Today, Luke writes full-time from his home in Burlington, where he lives with his wife and two cats. He is currently working on the next book in the "Ascend Online" series, as well as a new science fiction series titled "Starfall." Luke's published works in the "Ascend Online" series include "Ascend Online" (Book 1), "Ascend Online: Hell to Pay" (Book 1.5), "Ascend Online: Legacy of the Fallen" (Book 2), and "Ascend Online: Glory to the Brave" (Book 3). "Starfall" (Book 1) is forthcoming in 2019.
