Lyndsay Faye

Lyndsay Faye is an accomplished American author, known for her writing and acting talents. Raised in the Pacific Northwest, she later moved to Belmont, California, where she earned a dual degree in English and Performance from Notre Dame de Namur University. After working as a professional actress in the Bay area for several years, Faye relocated to Manhattan, New York, in 2005 with the intention of pursuing acting opportunities. However, after her day job at a restaurant was destroyed by bulldozers, she found herself with more free time, which she eventually devoted to writing. She currently resides north of Harlem with her husband and two cats, Prufrock and Grendel.

Faye's debut novel, Dust and Shadow, was published in 2009 and serves as a tribute to the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes and his loyal friend Dr. John Watson. The story is set in the late 1800s and centers around Jack the Ripper's heinous crimes, highlighting the immense challenge of identifying a serial killer amidst the heightened public and media scrutiny. Faye's fascination with Sherlock Holmes can be traced back to her childhood, making Dust and Shadow a deeply personal and heartfelt homage to the iconic detective and his creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
