Lynne Truss is a distinguished author of literary fiction and non-fiction books, hailing from England. She began her career as a literary editor, but soon found herself drawn to other creative pursuits. Truss spent six years as a TV critic for The Times (London), and then four years as a sports columnist for the same publication. Her work as a columnist for Women's Journal earned her the title of Columnist of the Year.
In addition to her work in journalism, Truss is also a highly regarded author. She has written several novels and radio comedy dramas, and is perhaps best known for her non-fiction works, such as "Eats, Shoots & Leaves" and "Talk to the Hand." These books showcase Truss's expertise in grammar and punctuation, and have earned her a reputation as a stickler for proper language usage.
Beyond her work in print and broadcast media, Truss has also made appearances on BBC Radio 4, where she hosted a series called "Cutting A Dash" that focused on punctuation. Her passion for language and grammar has earned her a devoted following among readers and listeners. Truss continues to write and review books for various publications, and remains a prominent figure in the literary world in England. She currently resides in Brighton, where she continues to work on new projects and share her love of language with others.
