Nancy Skopin

Nancy Skopin is a native Californian who currently resides on the Oregon coast. She lives with her husband, Max Ferry, and their dog, Turq. Skopin is an award-winning author, having won the 2015 Beverly Hills Book Award for her first novel, Murder On The Menu. She is known for her Nicoli "Nikki" Hunter mystery series.

Skopin is an avid student of human nature, spending her days imagining the best and worst that humans are capable of. She translates these ideas into her writing, creating intriguing mystery novels. Nikki, the central character in Skopin's series, shares a similar background with the author. Like Nikki, Skopin lived aboard a yacht in the San Francisco Bay Area for thirteen years before settling down on solid ground.

In her research for the Nikki Hunter mystery series, Skopin worked for two years with a private investigator. This experience allowed her to learn the intricacies of the business and the art of bar and restaurant "mystery shopping." Skopin has also worked closely with a retired police detective who serves as a procedural consultant and friend, adding depth and realism to her writing.
