Narine Abgaryan

Narine Abgaryan is a Russian writer of Armenian origin, who was born in 1971 in Berd, Armenia. She grew up in a family of a doctor and a school teacher, and went on to study at the State University of Linguistic Studies in Erevan. There, she earned a diploma of a teacher of Russian language and literature.

Abgaryan is a prolific author, having written a dozen books, including her bestselling and prize-winning trilogy about Manyunya, a lively and mischievous 11-year-old girl from a small Armenian town called Berd. The trilogy, which has sold over 100,000 copies, has garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards. In 2013, Abgaryan's book for children, "Semyon Andreich," received the BABY-NOSE from the New Literature Prize, as Russia's best children's book of the decade.

Abgaryan's work has also been recognized in the realm of adult literature. Her acclaimed novel, "Three Apples Fell From the Sky," has been translated into 12 languages and won the Yasnaya Polyana Award in 2018. She has been living in Moscow since 1993.

In addition to her writing, Abgaryan is also a blogger and has established herself as a prominent voice in the Russian literary scene. She is known for her vivid storytelling and her ability to bring to life the experiences of her characters in a way that resonates with readers of all ages.
