Natalie C. Parker is a distinguished American author, celebrated for her work in the Southern Gothic genre. She is the mastermind behind the acclaimed "Beware the Wild" series, which has garnered significant popularity. Making her debut in 2014, Parker introduced readers to her unique storytelling style with the first installment of the series.
Born into a Navy family, Parker's life was characterized by adventure and new experiences from an early age. This upbringing instilled in her a deep appreciation for the power of narrative, with fairy tales being a staple in her childhood. She pursued her passion for literature and writing, earning a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Southern Mississippi. Her academic journey continued at the University of Cincinnati, where she earned her MA in Women's Studies. In addition to her work as an author, Parker is dedicated to social responsibility and frequently collaborates with the University of Kansas on various projects. These initiatives include a climate change project and initiatives to strengthen relationships with indigenous communities. Despite her deep roots in the South of Mississippi, she currently resides in the Kansas plains with her partner, Tessa Gratton, and their menagerie of house monsters. Parker also founded the annual workshops and retreats known as "Madcap Retreats," which serve as a platform for both established and aspiring writers to develop their craft.
