Natasha Deen

Natasha Deen is a writer who has created works for children, teenagers, and adults. She believes in the power of stories to shape the world, and this belief is informed by her personal experiences. Deen moved with her family from Guyana, South America to Canada in order to escape the country's political and racial violence. Growing up in a new country, she often felt out of place, but books helped her to see that being different could be a strength.

Deen is a Guyanese-Canadian and the child of immigrants. She currently resides in Edmonton, Alberta with her family. Her home life is shared with a number of pets, including cats and dogs, with whom she frequently finds herself in good-natured disputes about who is truly the boss of the house. In addition to her writing, Deen enjoys visiting schools, libraries, and other organizations. She uses these opportunities to help others discover and share their own stories.

Deen is the author of several series and standalone books. Her Lark Ba series and Guardian series are popular with readers, as is her novel In the Key of Nira Ghani. Through her writing, Deen continues to explore the power of stories and the many ways they can impact the world.
