Nathan Lowell is a successful American author, best known for his science fiction and fantasy novels. He has been writing for over four decades and has earned a reputation as a prolific author in his genre. Lowell has a Ph.D. in Educational Technology, specializing in Distance Education and Instructional Design, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Educational Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Lowell's love for science fiction began at a young age, and he was particularly fascinated by the space opera genre. His experiences in the U.S. Coast Guard, where he served for five years, provided him with a unique perspective that would later inform his writing. In particular, his time on board a cutter on hurricane patrol in the North Atlantic and at a communications station in Kodiak, Alaska, gave him a deep appreciation for the seafarer and the maritime heritage of the sea-farer.
