Nathan Walpow is a renowned author, born in 1948 in New York City. He was brought up in the same city and attended college in the East Village during the late sixties. While in college, he learned valuable skills, most notably how to sneak downstairs at Fillmore East. After spending a total of ten years in upstate New York and Oklahoma City, he finally moved to Los Angeles in 1979.
Walpow is best known for his thrilling mystery novels, including the Joe Portugal mystery series, which consists of four novels with a fifth and final one in the works. His short fiction has also gained significant recognition, with "Push Comes to Shove" being selected for the Best American Mystery Stories series, and "A Good Day's Work" being optioned for a movie. These works, along with several others, are featured in his new collection titled "Push Comes to Shove."
In addition to his writing, Walpow is a five-time Jeopardy! champion and a member of Mystery Writers of America and International Thriller Writers. He has also served as the past president of the Southern California MWA chapter. Walpow's most recent work revolves around the character of Logan, who seeks retribution for those who prey on women and children. The novellas "Logan’s Young Guns" and "Logan Shoots First" are currently available as e-books and will soon be joined by a third in a trade paper volume from Down & Out Books.
