Nick Hornby is a highly acclaimed author, known for his distinctive storytelling and unique voice. He was born in 1957 and grew up in England. Hornby has written several novels, including "High Fidelity," "About a Boy," "How To Be Good," "A Long Way Down," "Slam," and "Juliet, Naked." His work often explores the complexities of modern life and relationships with humor and insight. One of his novels, "A Long Way Down," was even shortlisted for the prestigious Whitbread Award.
In addition to his novels, Hornby has also written several non-fiction books. "Fever Pitch" is a memoir about his life as a devoted supporter of the Arsenal Football Club. He has also written about his favorite songs in "31 Songs" and shared his thoughts on reading habits in "The Complete Polysyllabic Spree." Moreover, Hornby has edited the collection of short stories "Speaking with the Angel."
Hornby's work has been recognized with numerous awards and honors. He is a recipient of the American Academy of Arts and Letters’ E. M. Forster Award and the winner of the 2003 Orange Word International Writers’ London Award. Four of his titles have been named New York Times Notable Books. In 2009, he wrote the screenplay for the film "An Education," which was well-received at the Sundance Film Festival and distributed by Sony that fall. That same year, Hornby published his latest novel, "Juliet, Naked," to widespread acclaim. He currently resides in North London.
