Nicola Kraus

Nicola Kraus is a distinguished author of literature and fiction, best known for her co-written "Nanny Diaries" series. Originally from New York City, Kraus attended the prestigious Chapin School in her early years before moving on to New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. It was during her time at NYU that she met her frequent collaborator, Emma McLaughlin, with whom she would write several best-selling novels.

Kraus' upbringing in New York City would later provide inspiration for her writing. She spent her childhood at 1000 Park Avenue, and the residents of this building would serve as the inspiration for some of the characters in her fiction. Kraus and McLaughlin's debut novel, "The Nanny Diaries," became a cultural phenomenon upon its release. The book spent weeks at the top of the New York Times best-seller list and was eventually adapted into a major motion picture.

The success of "The Nanny Diaries" launched Kraus and McLaughlin into the public eye, and they became popular figures on the talk show circuit. They have appeared on shows such as "The Today Show," "Good Morning America," and "The View." The duo has also contributed to several publications, including The New York Times and The London Times. In addition to their writing and media appearances, Kraus and McLaughlin have also become advocates for young women in American corporate culture, traveling the country to speak on gender issues in the workplace.

In addition to "The Nanny Diaries," Kraus and McLaughlin have written several other best-selling novels, including "Citizen Girl," "Dedication," and "Nanny Returns." They have also published two short story collections to benefit The War Child Fund. The pair's latest novel, "Between You & Me," is set to be released soon, and they continue to be influential voices in American literature and culture.
