Noelle Harrison is a British author, born in London, who has been writing plays and novels for over three decades. She moved to Ireland in 1991 and established the theatre company Aurora, for which she wrote four stage plays and one short film. Harrison has also written extensively on visual art in Ireland, contributing to various journals and artists' catalogues.
Harrison's first novel, Beatrice, was published by Tivoli/ Pan Macmillan in August 2004. This was followed by A Small Part Of Me in 2005, I Remember in 2008, and The Adulteress in 2009. The Secret Loves of Julia Caesar, an illustrated limited edition novella, was published in October 2012. Harrison's books have been translated and published in several countries, including Italy, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Norway, Spain, France, Portugal, Brazil, and Serbia. She also writes under the pen name Evie Blake, and her Valentina Trilogy was published by Headline in 2012 and 2013.
Harrison has lived in Bergen, Norway, and currently resides in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is one of the founders of Aurora Writers' Retreats and part of the wellness hub The Space To BE. Harrison's writing is known for telling women's stories from the past and present, giving voice to those who are rarely heard. She has written five plays, including Northern Landscapes, Black Virgin, Runaway Wife, The Good Sister, and Witches' Gets, which have been performed in Edinburgh to sell-out houses. In 2014, Harrison was one of 56 Irish Writers included in the anthology and exhibition Lines of Vision Irish Writers on Art at the National Gallery of Ireland.
