Olga Wojtas was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is proud of her heritage, being half-Polish and half-Scottish. Growing up in Edinburgh, Wojtas attended James Gillespie's High School, which later served as the inspiration for Marcia Blaine School for Girls, a setting in her novel "Miss Blaine's Prefect and the Golden Samovar." Interestingly, she was a classmate of the renowned author Muriel Spark, who also used the school as a model for her famous work "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie."
Wojtas' passion for writing was ignited by an inspirational English teacher, Iona M. Cameron, during her time at James Gillespie's High School. This passion would lead her to become a successful author, with more than 30 short stories published in various magazines and anthologies. Her literary talent was recognized in 2015 when she was awarded a Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award. This prestigious accolade further cemented her position in the literary world and highlighted her potential as a promising author.
