Hubbard's love for mystery novels began during her time at Georgetown University, where she studied English. Her passion for classic British fiction grew during her time at New York University, where she was particularly influenced by authors such as Peter Robinson, P.D. James, Elizabeth George, Ruth Rendell, and Val McDermid. In addition to these British authors, she also enjoys the works of American authors like Lisa Gardner, Laura Lippman, Lou Berney, and Jess Walter.
In addition to her mystery novels, Hubbard has also written short stories which have been featured in various anthologies such as Dead Drift, Crimes by Moonlight, The Mystery Box, and Adirondack Mysteries. She also writes the Life in Palmyrton Women's Friendship Fiction Series. When she is not writing, Hubbard enjoys hiking with her rescue dog, Libby, and her husband.
