Sam Hawken is a best-selling and Crime Writers Association Dagger-nominated author, best known for his Camaro Espinoza thriller series and the critically acclaimed Borderland Trilogy. Hawken was born in San Antonio, Texas, on September 11, 1970, and has spent half of his life in southern Texas.
In addition to his writing, Hawken is an active advocate for autism and special needs-related causes. He is involved with organizations such as the Special Olympics and Autism Speaks, and encourages donations to the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland. Hawken's personal experience with autism comes from his role as a husband and father of a son with the condition.
Hawken has been nominated for the Crime Writers’ Association Daggers four times, including two nominations for the Gold Dagger for best crime novel. He has also had the opportunity to collaborate with New York Times bestseller James Patterson.
