Sandra Balzo is a successful and acclaimed author, best known for her work in the mystery and crime fiction genres. She has written two series of mystery novels, one set in North Carolina and the other just outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Balzo is a native of Wisconsin and spends her time living in both North Carolina and her home state.
Prior to becoming a novelist, Balzo spent twenty years working in corporate public relations, event management, and publicity. After her career in the corporate world, Balzo turned to mystery writing, bringing her experience and expertise in public relations to her new craft. Many of her novels have been nominated for Macavity and Anthony Awards, and have received five-star reviews from Booklist and Kirkus review.
In addition to her novels, Balzo also writes short stories, some of which have been published in the Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine and have won the Robert L. Fish Awards and Derringer Awards. Balzo's books have been well-received and have been compared to the works of Janet Evanovich, Charlaine Harris, Joan Hess, and Margaret Maron.
