Sandra Orchard is a successful author of inspirational romantic suspense and cozy mystery novels, hailing from the Niagara Region of Ontario, Canada. Despite having a passion for writing from a young age, she pursued a degree in math at university. However, her dream of becoming a writer never wavered. While raising her children, she took a writing course and contributed articles and reviews to a homeschooling newsletter. It wasn't until the death of her mother, when she discovered Christian fiction, that her hope and passion for writing were reignited. With the encouragement of her husband, she finally took the leap and signed her first writing contract six years later.
Orchard's writing has been recognized with numerous awards, including the National Readers' Choice Award, the Holt Medallion Award of Merit, the RT Book Reviews Reviewers' Choice Award, the Daphne DuMaurier Award of Excellence, and five national Canadian Awards. She is an active member of several Canadian Christian Writer Guilds, including The Word Guild, Romance Writers of America, and American Christian Fiction Writers. When she's not writing, Orchard enjoys playing with her grandchildren and hiking with her husband.
Orchard's novels take readers on a journey through the garden trails with her herbal-researcher-turned-amateur-sleuth in the Port Aster Secrets series, to the museum corridors of her plucky FBI art crime agent Serena Jones in A Fool and His Monet. She also delights in playing make-believe with her grandchildren and exploring the escarpment near her home in Niagara, Canada.
