Sara Hamdan is a Palestinian American author whose debut novel, "What Will People Think?", earned her the First Chapter: Emirates Literature Foundation Seddiqi Writers’ Fellowship. A former journalist for "The New York Times" and editor at Google, she began her career in finance as a Merrill Lynch banker before transitioning to writing. Her work was further recognized with a Netflix short story award prior to the publication of her novel.
Born in Greece and raised across multiple cultures, Hamdan brings a global perspective to her writing. She has lived in Dubai for two decades, where she balances her literary pursuits with family life. Her background in journalism and finance informs her storytelling, which often explores themes of identity, cultural expectations, and societal pressures. When not writing, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children by the sea.
