Sarah Mayberry is a published author of fiction, born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. She is the middle child of three and has always had a passion for writing, having wanted to be an author since she first began "stealing" paper from kindergarten to create her own books. After completing a bachelor's degree in professional writing, Mayberry attempted to write a book, but found herself lacking inspiration. She turned to trade journalism to pay the bills, which eventually led to her launching a new decorator magazine for a major Australian retailer.
Mayberry's ambition to write fiction for a living led her to become a storyliner for the Australian soap opera Neighbours. Over two years, she helped plot over 240 hours of television and wrote freelance scripts. She has fond memories of her time at Neighbours, recalling the dirty jokes and laughter around the story table. Mayberry still writes scripts for the show on a freelance basis. In 2003, she relocated to New Zealand for her partner's work and served as storyliner and story editor for the country's top-rating drama, Shortland Street, before leaving to pursue writing full time.
Mayberry's love for romance novels began with her grandmothers, and she submitted manuscripts to Harlequin many times over the years. She attributes her eventual success to the story structuring experience she gained on Neighbours and the patience of her editor, Wanda. Mayberry is revoltingly happy with her partner of twelve years, Chris, who is also a talented scriptwriter. When she's not writing, Mayberry enjoys reading, cooking, sleeping, pilates, going to the movies, and shopping. Her favorite authors include Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Rachel Gibson, Karina Bliss, Mary Balogh, Julie James, Sherry Thomas, Meredith Duran, and Loretta Chase. Her favorite movie is When Harry Met Sally, and she loves hearing from readers via her website.
