Sarah Monette

Sarah Monette is a published author of fiction who also writes under the pen name of Katherine Addison. She was born and raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, one of the secret cities of the Manhattan Project. Monette studied English and Classics in college and has gone on to earn her M.A. and Ph.D. in English Literature.

Monette's first four novels were published by Ace Books. She has also written two collaborations with Elizabeth Bear for Tor: A Companion to Wolves and The Tempering of Men. Monette's short stories have been featured in various publications, including Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet, Weird Tales, and Strange Horizons. She has published two collections of short stories, Somewhere Beneath Those Waves and The Bone Key.

In addition to her writing, Monette reviews both fiction and nonfiction under her real name and pen name. However, she reads very little fiction these days. Monette and her husband share a living space that is constantly filled with books and computer parts, as they both have collecting habits. Monette's husband collects computer parts, while she collects books. Their living space is a constantly contested border between these two imperial ambitions.
