Sarah Rees Brennan

Sarah Rees Brennan is a well-known Irish author, renowned for her works in the science fiction, fantasy, and young adult genres. She was born and raised in Ireland, near the sea, and developed a deep love for reading at a young age. Despite her teachers' efforts to encourage her to speak fluent Irish, Sarah preferred to read books under her desk during class, much to their chagrin. Her favorite authors during her school years were Anthony Trollope, Robin McKinley, Diana Wynne Jones, and Jane Austen, and she continues to enjoy their works to this day.

After completing her college studies, Sarah lived in New York for a short period of time, where she had some thrilling experiences, such as taking lifts in fire engines. She then moved to Surrey, England, where she pursued a Creative Writing MA and worked in library jobs. Eventually, Sarah found herself back in Ireland, where she now resides in Dublin. She has been writing young adult books for over a decade and hopes that her readers find at least one of them memorable. The Demon's Lexicon series are her first published books, which launched her successful writing career.

Sarah is particularly known for her Demon's Lexicon trilogy and her collaboration with author Justine Larbalestier for the Team Human novel series. Her novels often depict romantic mysteries centered around female protagonists, and she has a habit of reading her favorite books, even today. Sarah's love for reading and writing began in her school days, where she would hide her books under her desk and read them during class, much to her teachers' dismay. Despite their attempts to punish her and force her to learn Irish, Sarah never stopped reading her favorite books whenever she could find the time. Her passion for reading and writing has led to her successful career as a young adult author.
