Sarah Stewart Taylor

Sarah Stewart Taylor is an accomplished American author, renowned for her mystery and thriller novels. She is best known for her two series, the Maggie D’arcy series and the Sweeney St. George series. Taylor was raised on Long Island, New York, and went on to attend Middlebury College in Vermont. Her love for Irish literature and culture led her to Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, where she studied the subject in-depth.\n \n Before becoming a full-time author, Taylor held various jobs, including teaching and journalism. Her debut novel, "O' Artful Death," the first book in the Sweeney St. George Mysteries, was published in 2003, marking the beginning of her successful writing career. Taylor now resides in Vermont with her family, where they raise sheep and grow blueberries on a small farm. She is known to spend as much time in Ireland as she can, drawing inspiration from the culture for her writing.

Taylor's work has been well-received, with her novels earning nominations and appearing on numerous Best of the Year lists. Her first Maggie D'arcy mystery, "The Mountains Wild," was a Library Journal Pick of the Month, and the fourth Maggie D'arcy mystery, "A Stolen Child," was a Publishers Weekly Pick of the Week. Taylor's latest Maggie D'arcy novel, "A Stolen Child," is now available, and her new series set in Vermont in 1965, with the first installment titled "AGONY HILL," will be out in 2024.
