Sarah Warburton

Sarah Warburton is a bestselling mystery author, originally from Virginia. She is well-known for her debut novel, "Once Two Sisters," which was published in 2020. Warburton was born and raised in Virginia as the eldest of four sisters. From a young age, she developed a love for reading and knitting, which may have influenced her future career as an author. She attended the College of William and Mary as a teenager, where she graduated with a degree in Latin. Warburton later went on to obtain her Classics degree from Brown University and the University of Georgia. She then studied creative writing at the University of New Mexico with Julie Shigekuni and Sharon Oard Warner.

Warburton has also worked in independent bookstores and spent over a decade as a writer and lead editor for "Upclose Magazine." Her short story, "Margaret's Magnolia," was featured in the "Southern Arts Journal," and she won the Flash Fiction Contest Women on Writing. In addition, her short story, "Survival English," received a Pushcart prize nomination and was featured in the Oyster River Pages. Warburton is also the author of the short story, "The Silent Treatment," which was published in the "Chautauqua Journal." She currently resides in Southwestern Virginia with her husband, daughter, son, and hound dog. Warburton has been described as a "basically happy person" who writes very bleak prose. Her second novel, "After She Wrote Him," was published in 2023.
