Sarah Woodbury is a bestselling author, known for her historical fiction novels, particularly the After Cilmeri series, the Welsh Guard Mysteries series, and the Gareth & Gwen Medieval Mysteries series. With more than 40 novels to her name, all set in Medieval Wales, Woodbury has sold over a million copies of her books to date. Her ancestors hail from Wales, which sparked her interest in the country and its history. This interest was further nurtured by her parents, who were historians. Woodbury went on to study anthropology in college, which eventually led to her writing career.
Beyond her Welsh heritage, Woodbury's personal connection to Wales was only established when she visited the country for the first time during her college years. Since then, she has developed a deep love for Wales, its language, and its people. This love is further reflected in the fact that she gave her four children Welsh names, having convinced her husband to do the same. Woodbury is a member of several professional organizations, including Romance Writers of America (RWA), Professional Authors Network (PAN), Novelist, Inc., the Historical Fiction Author Cooperative (HFAC), the Historical Novel Society (HNS), and Novelists, Inc. (NINC). She currently resides in Oregon.
