Sascha Rothchild

Sascha Rothchild is a accomplished author, known for her wit and ability to tackle a variety of genres. She was born and raised in South Beach, where she excelled in school while also managing to find trouble. Her defiant teen years are even the subject of an episode of the national radio show This American Life. After majoring in playwriting at Boston College and graduating summa cum laude, Rothchild moved to Los Angeles to begin her career in television writing.

Rothchild's big break came when her humorous personal essays published in LA Weekly caught the attention of movie studios. This led to her memoir, "How To Get Divorced By 30," being published by Penguin and optioned by Universal Studios. She also sold feature films to several other studios including Dreamworks, Sony, Paramount, Disney and Fox. In addition to her work in film, Rothchild has also found success in television. She has developed original TV pilots for networks such as NBC, The CW, HBO and Netflix, and has written and produced shows including GLOW, Huge In France, and The Bold Type. She is currently an Executive Producer and writer on the hit Netflix series, The Babysitters Club. Rothchild is also known for her personal essays, which have been published in various outlets including Elle Magazine. She is excited to announce that her debut novel, "Blood Sugar," will be published by Putnam in the Spring of 2022.

Rothchild grew up in Miami Beach, which she describes as "bananas". She studied playwriting at Boston College, before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in writing. After many odd jobs and first drafts, she finally broke into the tv and film business when her humorous personal essays got the attention of studios. She then wrote her comedic yet heartfelt memoir, "How To Get Divorced By 30", published by Penguin/Plume. She is an Emmy-nominated screenwriter and has written and produced numerous shows for Netflix, Freeform, Hulu and ABC. She is a dog lover, sunscreen enthusiast and a unicorns admirer. She is known for her sense of humor and her ability to be ironic, even if she's kidding herself.
